Hi Everybody.  I am humbled by your effort to keep the DHS spirit going, and write you from lazy boy, watching the Oscars.  I cheer you all for your volunteerism and truly appreciate your efforts.  I was in Durango three times last year to bury my folks ashes, and was able to see Keith and Caroline at a downtown fair, which led me to the web site and the firm determination to be with you all this year.  My best wishes to all of you who are active in the reunion committeek.  God bless  you all, and I look forward to presenting my CFO Blanca to all of you this summer, that's here alias for wife.  Hugs to all.  Life is Good.

Pete,  Saw youe picture from one of the past reuniions, and was so happy to see one of my old spanish class mates still around.  Bless your heart, and I am sorry about your loss, but am encouraged by the foto where you seemed to be smiling and joking with some of the old gang.  I look forward to seeing you and hearing your life's story, which I am sure is filled with fun and adventure.  God Bless.  leo

Hello all, great memories of our class. Really sorry to hear about the ones we lost. I too buried my parents last summer in Durango, not far from where Doug Briggs is buried. I love Durango and treasure all the memories.
I have been living in Glenwood Springs since 1975 with my husband whom I met in Durango. We really like Glenwood Springs, and I have been in real estate for the last 33 years. I have two grown children Shawn and Taryn.
I think I can make it to the cocktail party Friday night but have made plans for the rest of the weekend. I wish I would have known sooner about the renion and was hoping it would be in July or August. At any rate it is what it is, looking forward to seeing everyone!

Hi Lois, and All,  It sousnds like you as well as many of us have had good lives, to be alive and enjoy each others company for a flash back will be cool.

We are closing in on the date, and this week we will finish making the T-Shirts for all those that register, plus one.

Look forward to seeing all of those that can attend, even if its for just a little while one day or the other.

Please share the news so that as many people as we all know can make it one day or the other.

Bless you all,  Leo

Hello All,

Life has been hard for us all at times and mine is not the exception. I still remember having to return a Porsche to the bank and losing our first home, hawkiing my wife's engagement ring (and losing it) and of learning that family members enjoy alternative life styles.

We all have that kind of stories to share, if you want to hear mine, please join us, I'll make you cry.  But, then you will laugh so hard your Depends might need changing.

Life is shorter than we'd like, so lets get together as many of us as we can and enjoy memories, some good....   Leo

Hi All,  Glad to see the list is getting longer by the day.  We are up to 54, and in spite of some not rsvp'ing by thursday, will have plenty of Tshirts on hand for the everyone.

Life has given us all challenges to face, losing our first home, two cars, my wife's engagement ring in a California hock shop, and the news of family members and friends that enjoy alternative life styles.

Life is also very good, this year I have the means and time to join you at the DHS 40th Annual Reunion from Mexico and hope to hear some amazing stories from the likes of Delvin, Ben, Pete, Margaret, Judy, Greg, Keith and Caroline, Patricia, and many others.

Big Hugs to You

Leo

Hi guys,  I found the first mistake on the attendees list on the back of the tshirts, so it'll be a test to see who sees it first.  The most important thing is that they are on the highway to Laredo as I write, and expect them to be there at the Strater friday night, when we will start handing them out.

They look great. and hope we all have a wonderful visit together, as brief as our exchanges may be.

Best wishes, and hope everyone has a great week, no matter where you will be.  Leo

I will post all the reunion photos on line or make a disk and mail to you.

For a link to an online folder, I need an e-mail from you to access the folder.

I did the best I could. Photos should put smiles on most all, including those who could not attend.

After months of anticipation, the long awaited 40th reunion of the Durango High School class of 1973 has arrived and sadly, much to quickly passed. I would like to thank the whole reunion committee for all their hard work. You all did an awesome job. Thank to Rod Barker and the staff at the Strator for providing with a most pleasant atomosphere and some good munchies. I always love my time at the Strator. Thanks to Ginger, Mary Jo, Joni and  Danna for all their hard work and for their support while I was trying to make arrangements to attend.  It was super great to get there and to get to know you all again. To Benny ... er ... um .... to BEN Breed ... that meal you put on was just fantastic. Some of the best barbequed pork and chicken I've had and that spicy potatoe salad was wonderful. By far my favorite dish was the beans with just the right amount of spice. Thank god Ben's grandmother was able to teach him the secret and his trick of using exactly 245 beans per pot. His knowledge of what would happen if you add that 246th bean saved the whole area from being gassed and saved us all from wishing we'd have remembered our Beano. Another thanks goes out to Mike Stratton for providing the meat for the barbeque. Thank you Leo Lobato for all the tee shirts and the charming commentary. Thanks to Doug Mason for ... oh I can't remember what to thank Doug for ... And  ... finally ... last but not least .... (insert drum roll) ...Thanks to Jack Turner, who as usual did a grand job of making all the important annoucements and kept the whole group organized and under control!!!! Honestly Jack, you know you want to do this all again in just five short years. You know you do!!!!!  It was wonderful to see everyone that attended and helped to make another cool DHS experience. Please note that Sandy Jones has created a facebook page called DHS Class of 1973 Durango, CO. It's a group that is open only to those of us who graduated in 1973. You'll be able to see pictures of the last reunion and hopefully we can use this page to keep track of each other and to plan future get togethers. So please let other 1973 graduates from Durango know about the page and encourage them to join in the fun.  So once again, thank you everyone for making this an event to remember a long time. I hope to see and hear from all of you real soon!!!!
